WHAT I DO
I practice holistic medicine — I discover the root cause of your problem, work to heal the issue, and improve your overall well-being in the process. I perform a comprehensive assessment that allows me to understand your health in the context of your life — examining your health history, mental wellness, food habits, sleep quality, lab work, and more. Reaching your health goal can be overwhelming, stressful, and sometimes mentally exhausting. I will help you shift your mindset around nutrition, educate you about self-care, navigate physical and mental barriers, and provide you with an exact roadmap of everything you need to succeed.
FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
🍵 I love tea — chamomile, ginger, chocolate, etc. I also prefer caffeine-free teas!
🏋🏽♀️ I despise feeling hot and sweaty — so the gym and I have a love-hate relationship, haha! We are working on that!
🌱 I make it a point to try my best to use natural/non-toxic products — find me in a local health food store trying out the latest natural hair care and beauty products!

My Approach & Philosophy
Achieving better health involves more than what you eat — equally important is how you think, move, and rest. My approach encourages you to develop wholesome habits that become a part of your everyday routine. It's about focusing on what you can do for your body, rather than on what you can't. Your body is a temple, and you should treat it as such. Considering how your overall mental, physical, and spiritual well-being plays a role in your overall health is crucial. I encourage all to honor their body as the sanctuary it is. This whole-life approach to healthy living focuses on four principles:
Nutrition has a massive impact on our weight, energy, mood, and development of disease. Therefore, eating nutritious foods has the power to complement conventional treatments. My goal is to help you feel empowered by learning how to use food as medicine, focus on plant-rich nutrition, and discover what works for your unique body.
Inflammation affects your brain and can cause symptoms that look like anxiety and depression. My approach to mental health involves optimizing your gut health, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in positive activities.
Chances are, if you don’t enjoy the type of exercise you are doing, you won’t do it. Whether it’s walking, going to the gym, or taking a dance class, I encourage you to engage in heart-healthy exercises that are enjoyable.
Proper sleep hygiene is essential to overall health. Sleep deprivation can cause the stress hormones in your body to rise. I will help you figure out how much sleep you need, why you need it, and how to get it.
I believe our food choices, exercise, mental health, and sleep all play a role in how we look and feel. A holistic approach incorporates improving all of those areas.

I didn't want to be on a restrictive plan nor told to only watch calories! Shanon showed me how to eat intuitively and mindfully so that I can get in touch with my hunger and fullness signals. Highly recommend!
