Helping women achieve optimal gut health and overall well-being by nourishing from within.

The Nourish Center (TNC) is a holistic nutrition private practice founded by Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist Shanon Whittingham, MS, RDN, CDN. We teach women how to achieve optimal gut health and overall well-being. Every decision you make is either nourishing or neglecting your health. Our food choices, physical activity, mental health, and sleep all affect how our body functions. We use our nourish formula to help women uncover the root cause of their health issues  so that their bodies can heal and work as a strong unit. While both men and women contract various conditions, some health issues affect women differently and more commonly. Depression and anxiety exhibit more frequently among female patients. Rates of obesity are higher in women than in men. We believe women can lower the risk of these health issues with healthy habits. Through our services we hope to provide health promotion and disease prevention so that all women can achieve lifelong health, healing, and well-being.

Since 2017 I have been committed to taking a holistic approach to health and well-being. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, a holistic approach considers the whole person . That means that I don’t just ask about what you eat and if you exercise! I also look at how your mental health affects your eating habits, or even if you have a spiritual practice that impacts the foods you avoid eating. A holistic approach emphasizes the interconnection of our mind, body, and spirit.

Our bodies have a tremendous ability to heal. At The Nourish Center our main goal is to address any underlying causes of disease while integrating the core concepts of holistic medicine. We offer a variety of services ranging from free online content, group sessions, and private 1-on-1 counseling

Every decision you make is either nourishing or neglecting your health. Your food choices, stress levels, exercise, mental health, and sleep all play a role in how you look and feel.

I integrate a variety of nutrition therapies including whole foods, tailored supplements, and mind-body modalities. When you become a client you get a personalized plan that includes recommendations for nutrition, movement, rest, and mindfulness.

  • NUTRITION — Our health is vital, and it explores more than the absence of disease. Food and supplements contain vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that can balance hormones or disrupt health. Through personalized nutrition, I teach you the value of food as medicine so that you can reduce the need for medications.

  • MOVEMENT — I encourage you to move your body in ways that are enjoyable for you. Exercise is not just about training or heart fitness, but exercise is important for your gut health as well.

  • REST — Sleep deprivation can affect your gut health in as little as two days. It can cause inflammation and stress hormones in your body to rise. I'll encourage you to get rest and improve your quality of sleep.

  • MINDFULNESS — I believe achieving optimal health is not just about what you eat — equally important is how you think. Do you have a spiritual practice? Do you have positive and meaningful relationships? Do you spend time in nature? I champion the importance of feeding your body, mind, and spirit.

Client Testimonials

"I recently got diagnosed with high blood pressure and cholesterol. I didn't know what to do, so I searched Instagram to find a nutritionist. I came across Shanon and she was an AMAZING coach. She was a great listener and awesome communicator who made the program seamlessly easy for me. Since working with her my cholesterol number has significantly decreased and my blood pressure has been averaging 110/70 consistently. I'm so very thankful that I joined her program for it taught me how to be healthy on my own! I would highly recommend her services."
